I like the detailed descriptions of the movements of units. reminds me of military summary. I might have to start following the units if we're going to keep getting that kind of detail. Would be good if it came with a map of the front line at that time, too.
And so much detail, looks like first hand knowledge, so could there be any detail about the attitudes and understanding amongst the troops?
I would very much like it if Ukrainians would join together and be ukrainians and forget this american bullcrap and decide their own fates. I kinda naively hope and believe they do just want to live together amicably, given the chance. I wonder if any such sentiments current nowadays?
About one year ago, we've also run a (highly successful) collection For the Shark ( https://xxtomcooperxx.substack.com/p/for-the-shark ), which resulted in the supply of a highly-effective reconnaissance UAV to the 3rd SSO (the same is 'still' operational, and 'indirectly responsible' for lots of 'kill videos' one can see in the social media).
Point is: when one gets involved, 'does such things', then... well... 'obtaining info one does not get anywhere else' is unavoidable. And so, the impression came into being along which there are 'several parallel universes' in Ukraine.
The universe of the top politicians, the universe of the Glavcom (CO Armed Forces) & his buddies (General Staff of Ukraine and other 'top commanders'), the universe of oligarchs, and then the universe of 'every-day Ukrainians' (Including the mass of ZSU troops, their families, and the 'remaining public' (to keep it simple).
Those bearing the brunt of this war are every-day Ukrainians. Ranging (approximately) from brigade-commanders to kids in kindergartens targeted by the Russians because these are adjacent to some restaurant, or whatever other 'big house' where - at least according to informants of the Russian GRU and FSB - 'there are big troop concentrations' of the ZSU.
They are the very reason why 'Ukraine still stands'. They're the 'brothers in arms' of sort. And they are those killed, wounded or worse...
The rest is so useless, they could all emigrate with immediate effect: pay Musk to shoot them with a rocket straight to Mars - and nobody would be missing them. Actually, the country would do much better without them. (Thinking of it: in this regards, there's no difference between Ukraine and Austria, just for example.)
As for 'more details, please' and 'add maps': please be sure, both Donald and me are giving our best and would love 'doing much more', too. We are both 'constrained' in what are we able to 'collect and produce', though (and have our 'jobs' and private lives, too).
Yep, I don't mean to complain about the level of detail you provide now, nor increase your workload. I'm just trying to flag those are interesting directions to me: the attitudes of the 'common man' both in uniform and out and I'd guess you have a map of your own in your computers showing the current line of contact. Just a shot of that. I'd copy it onto my map.
I would hope your help 'for Ukraine' would be help for Ukraine but it turns out it is help for 'Kiev Ukraine' which is effectively helping to destroy Ukraine as witnessed by half a million deaths so far.
And more: it apparently is direct lethal help. Not medicines or reasoning or such.
Ah well. You have your counterparts on the other side, too.
You sound like very sensible men.
Perhaps you could do an issue wherein you describe what you see as the benefit of all this to the Kiev Ukrainians that so far has cost half a million of them their lives?
That would be very interesting. Doubly so if we could find a counterpart on the 'russian' side to do the same.
Is there anywhere they meet, I wonder? Apart from the lunacy of the battlefield?
So, you mean, there are 'Kyiv Ukrainians' - and then 'all the other Ukrainians', where the latter are forced by the 'Kyiv Ukrainians' to fight against 'brotherly Russians'?
Well, Pudding thought exactly that way, too. So much so, this was exactly what the VSRF officers were preaching their troops (as far as they cared to do so, first and foremost), when sending them over the border, early on 24 February 2022.
This went so far that the Russian troops in question really expected to drive to, for example, Kharkiv, to a warm welcome, flowers, kisses and hugs from young girls...
'By accident', then, I guess, it must be so I know only and solely lots of 'Kyiv Ukrainians' from Donbas, from Melitopol, from Mariupol and similar places - presently occupied and savaged by 'brotherly Russians' - serving in the ZSU, meanwhile refusing, on their own, to use Russian in every-day communications (even if many of them are related to Russia, in one way or the other), and fighting like crazy to stop the Russian genocide of Ukrainians.
Of course, you're free to declare all of us for brainwashed, misinformed, misguided, or whatever, but in such case I cannot but recommend you to move to the Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine, and enjoy the life there.
That said, alone the fact you didn't even care to click on either of two links to the two charities we're supporting - as obvious from your babbling about 'direct lethal help' (indicative of you not paying attention at what exactly is purchased for the money in question) - is telling me you can't care less about what I answer. Thus, I'll stop right here.
"There are nearly 5 million IDPs currently registered in Ukraine, including 3.6 million who fled or were forced from their homes after Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022"
Try to separate the wheat from the chaff. 3.6 million is the number of people who fled all Ukranian regions including the regions far away from the war zone. Many of them are refugees by ecomonics reason or, what I perfectly support, deserters.
Still, you failed to see my logic: despite all propaganda efforts, Ukranians have no problems to return to the homes and to live under Russian governance. Even official UA source confirm it with the gnashing of teeth.
Still, I must admit, last months thousands of Ukranians were denying entrance to Russia. After several dozens of acts of terror in Russia by UA sabauters, RU law enforcement officers got much stricter. What is sad as I welcome UA migration to Russia.
Way too generous reply to a person who states in his own blog that Maidan was a false-flag event, there should be something like a sovereign Donbas State and nowadays russia is simply helping Donbas to repel the invasion. Indeed, one can be cordially recommended to get a one-way ticket to occupied parts of Ukraine.
You mean you want to say that the 30 million are not attacking the 10 million?
I cannot see how you can possibly try to support that contention. Not at all.
If you are in kiev ukraine then i suppose it natural you would only know 'kiev ukraine' adherents, followers, lovers. What little I know of the place the wisest thing to do whilst there is never profess any interest or connection whatever with russia.
It is actually against the war I believe.
As is speaking Russian.
There is no Russian genocide of Ukrainians. That is simply ridiculous.
Yes, you do all appear to be misinformed to the extent of real 'brainwashing'. That also is very clear. You seem to be totally misinformed as to what brought this about.
You are all just part of a british and american plot, in fact. You've been and are being manipulated by them and by your own oligarchs and black marketeers and crooked politicians and rabid nationalists and nazi lunatics.
You've got a whole array of groups/people against you.
Your government now has you in debt for generations, it has sold off and is selling off the country as hard as it can, your infrastructure is wrecked, your population shrunk beneath sustainable, you are beyond bankrupt, industries smashed and so on. And you've lost way more than half a million dead.
And you're told, I think, that you are winning. ! And you are told you are stopping an invasion ! While you stand on land you know you invaded !
You might have a lot of meathead city dwellers but you've also got a hell of a lot of farmers by the looks of the place. Farmers know damn well whose land they are standing on. Ask them who the invaders are.
You're told Donbas was/is invaded, 'conquered', 'subject' while the truth is the Donbas people fought you for eight years single handed and the Donbas people today that owned land or property, businesses, whatever, prior to this still own them. And still own their own government ! Their government with their approval federated their republics with the Russian federation and they're happy about it. Because you refused them and attacked them and on ethnic grounds no less, classic german nazism.
I didn't click your links, that's true. I just took your word for it: you are running a charity for your ukrainians. Okay, good for you.
Meanwhile your government is begging and borrowing billions simply for the purpose of attacking the donbas and that's a simple fact.
Direct lethal aid is exactly what that's all about.
I would move to the russian occupied parts of ukraine if i had to, without any problem. But only if I sort of had to move and had few choices. I prefer in the whole world this place where I am now and I prefer warmer climes than anywhere in Europe. And frankly I don't like your authoritarian govts, nor your looney politicians, nor the inbuilt savagery you all seem to have: choosing violence as the first option, going barmy over ideological differences while ignoring wholesale corruption that matters much more.
I am a very ordinary man and I've suffered a bit of misfortune odd times in my life and have come to be very wary of authority and even my fellow man when he's acting in service of that authority: happy to excuse himself because he's 'just doing my job' and proceed to inflict all kinds of injury on you, his actual fellow countryman and fellow worker.
And you seem to have that kind of wild authority and brutal conscienceless servants of it in plenty all over Europe and I don't want it/like it. I'd hate to be in any of your prisons, most especially, I think, the Slavic ones from what little I see and I've learned innocence cannot guarantee to keep you out of prison. I'm including Russia in all of this. l'm not blind
But if i had to go its Russia I would go to for preference. For sure. But like I say, I'd have to be hard pressed despite the good spin Sam of YT 'Sam's Russian Adventures' puts on life in Russia.
And talking YT some say they can't access YT or various links I sometimes provide when I'm talking to such as yourself. Well then use a VPN and that should work. If your government will not let you do that then communicate directly with me and maybe we can work some way out that I can send you material you can't see.
Lastly yes, it's true I don't care much about what you have to say. I am trying to get the truth out there. That means talking to everyone, anyone and trying, trying, trying. Repeating myself a thousand times and so on. If I cared about every one who refuses what I say, who doesn't want to know, who fiercely denies I'd go into depression pretty quick. I can't afford to care.
I think it was yourself I asked to give me an explanation of what the half million dead stood to gain if instead of dying they'd been successful in their conquest of donbas? what is that is worth half a million lives?
Dear Tom, please remove this idiot from the comments. It would be better if the Russian Tupolev remained - he may be a bastard, but he has brains. And this misunderstanding can only scribble kilometer-long texts of nonsense, like GPT.
This 'Rubicon' drone unit sounds like a 'Fire brigade' style organisation. Sent to troubled spots. I wonder how long they'll survive for. In any other military it would be a good idea that would be 'protected' but with Russia, one wrong word or wrong attitude to the wrong commander and either they'll be thrown into the meat grinder or Ukrainian intelligence will have a sudden influx of intel on their positions...
This unit is being treated differently. Initiative and development is encouraged. I don't know who has operational control over them but I very much doubt they will be treated like ordinary line units.
Almost certainly subjected to the GRU. That's making them 'apostols' in comparison to all the other sub-branches of the VSRF. 'Superior' even to the VDV.
Se me hace irónico que exista ese trato hacia una unidad de un ejército de orcos, comparándolo especialmente con los comportamientos del "inteligente Syrsky" hacia su ejercito.
You wrote: « The 157th Mechanized Brigade, formed last summer (after Zelensky has announced his order that no new brigades are going to be formed) » Thus isn’t sarcasm. It’s comedy. (Black comedy.)

Not going into long useless discussions, just some facts:
https://kyivindependent.com/150-000-ukrainian-idps-have-returned-to-occupied-regions-mp-says/
Looks like Russia is more attractive.....
Yeah, so attractive xD
The very same article says
"There are nearly 5 million IDPs currently registered in Ukraine, including 3.6 million who fled or were forced from their homes after Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022"
150k is only 4.2% of 3.6m, duh...
