"together, we’re far more effective than the mass of our governments" I think the one thing this conflict has shown is that everyday people do give a shit and with crowdfunding platforms (official or not) we are empowered enough to actually make a difference to the effectiveness and the daily lives of those brave folks in the grey zone.
(had a terrible headache while trying to decide where to help, so I said "screw it, I'm sending to both")
Now, let's hope that these Ukrainian fighters will be able to withstand the Russian invaders, and repel them beyond the 1991 borders... Anything less would be a great loss for Ukraine and the West
Think, the 72nd might be in a slightly bigger predicament: they're really 'at the end of ZSU's logistic chain'. The unit holding the furthest sector away from Kyiv. And they're holding Vuhledar for something like 1,5 years, meanwhile, regardless what are the Russians throwing at them.
It's a brave, yet much under-published brigade - and one in urgent need of such 'simple' items like medical supplies.
The 72nd Mech is 'one, such case' - where 'relatively little' can accomplish a lot, and that within shortest possible period of time.
Alone the fact 'they' receive something, and thus 'know' they're 'not forgotten' - means a lots to the troops in Vuhledar. Not to talk about restoring their ability to take care about their injured.
Sent EUR 100 for each the FPVs and the medical aid. It even surprises me they have to ask for donations for purchasing medical equipment. The coalition should just finance and deliver everything that is needed for something so basic that makes such a difference. It would require a relatively small effort from us ("the west").
Tom: even though I really can not afford it I just tried to donate $20 to (https://topcargo200.com/ua72/) via the Paypal link on the website and it was blocked.
Do you know of any other way to donate....because I just do not understand this &^$%.
I'm waiting for response with alternative details, and I'll keep you and others here posted. Please, have few days of patience: the 72nd is currently busy.
I’ve sent £50 for the medical aid
Thanks a lot, Sally!
Be sure, it's much appreciated.
I hope it helps a bit
It helps more than a bit! When the boys are stuck packing wounds with dirty t-shirts, $50 worth of sterile gauze can save a LOT of lives!
....or at least arms and legs...
Excellent news!
You are awesome as well, Tom. Thank you so much. I have sent 50 euros for the medical aid.
I’ve just been reading about the brave guys holding off the Russian tanks at Vuhledar. I’ll be following them carefully from now on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vuhledar
Yup, thanks. This was what was known about that battle as of late January last year:

Thank you for the information .
Thanks and respect for what you do. I did it again and will respond in future, do not hesitate to ask.

Slava Ukraini!
Thanks Tom

Yup, it's not easy to decide... even cruel.

Tom: I have let my wife know about the 72nd Mech and she is going to pass that around to the groups she is part of.
Thanks a lot, Martin!

Very good indeed. The people are with Ukraine. Tell 'em we can't help it our leaders are stupid.

Tom: my wife, Lucretia, who is FAR smarter than I figured it out so the $20 is on the way and as Gilda Radner is famous for saying....NEVERMIND....
