Would it be easier to basically have a system in place where a general Ukrainian Forward Units Rickshaw Fund be established, and let you/Anastasiia allocate funding priorities as circumstances arise?
I can't speak for the other donors, of course, but it seems that Anastasiia has gone the extra kilometer at this point with documentation of spending and such that I would have no issues with allowing the two of you to program funds to whatever unit needs it the most each day/week/month.
Yes, Anastasiia is documenting every single cent she's spending, and she's sending me receipts for every single money transfer and/or payment. Thus, actually, I'm not reporting the mass of what's going on in this regards (like 're-shuffling of funds' from, for example, PayPal to the BankAccount or to her card: in Ukraine, one can't pay per PayPal for all too many things she's got to buy, these days...).
...as much as we're both striving for total transparency, 'accounting' is meanwhile taking really a lot of her and my times...
Re. would it be easier to have a joint account for everything....?
While this sounds perfectly OK, the problem is the way the Ukrainian authorities treat Anastasiia (yes, despite her status as a volunteer). Essentially, bank accounts are making things easier, and seem to be considered 'more legal' than what is actually the easiest way for almost everybody to donate (PayPal). And since she's registered and personally tied to the 151st, now she 'must explain' how comes she's supporting the 72nd and the 82nd and, and, and...
(One cannot deny: in this regards, Ukraine is 'on the best way in the EU'....)
Ahh, understood. I assumed that there had to be a reason for splitting everything out, but I was thinking (hoping?) that it was simply an oversight from when you started the fundraiser for the 151.
And please, don't take what I wrote as a criticism of money handling - you have shown a number of receipts/invoices for a number of things that have been bought for the front-line units, sufficient for me to donate; reporting internal accounting details strikes me as just a massive time-sink with relatively little ROI.
I wanted to write exactly what Dean said: you two are the best judges of what is needed and by whom and a single repository is for me the best choice. But I understand the problem. Indeed it would be sufficient for you to regularly state which fund needs the most donation and that would be it... I hope anyway the Paypal options will still be available.
I agree, she's the one at the front and she should be the one to manage the funds in the way she thinks is most effective, otherwise it will look like the micromanagement of GenStab-U that has given such "good results" on the battlefront
On a tight budget, so haven't been able to donate as yet.
However, considering the differences in support between Ukraine and Israel, thought I'd put out a couple of comments -
Not long after the 'tragic accidental' killing of the 7 WCK humanitarian workers in Gaza i saw a commercial by an American Christian charity asking for donations to feed displaced Israeli citizens. Irony was really strong as WCK had been in Israel right after 10/7 doing just that.
And even now I see adverts on Times of Israel asking for donations to provide 'protective gear' and even food for IDF forces in Northern Israel.
Ukraine is fighting an invader who has destroyed much of its infrastructure and deprived the country of much of its income producing land and industry. Israel on the other hand is asking for handouts to fuel its campaigns of revenge and intimidation.
Thank you!!!
Thank you!
Ty for the updates. Here’s to hoping our donations help the 72nd recover sooner after their non stop service in their area of responsibility.
Thank you!

Special thanks for your trust, Dean!

Many thanks anyway for your work.

Done, hopefully it will cover half cost of the wheel
Thank you!
