Looks like The Ukraine Aide package from US Bill 8035 will finally get voted into law this weekend. Better late than never?

I'll 'believe' it only when I see it - and then: see it arriving in Ukraine.

It may all be Kabuki, but I’ll take Kabuki over “The Guns of August.”

This reminds me of an Old West painting of a gunfight in a saloon. Three cowboys around a billards table blazing away at each other, you have no idea who started what or who is on whose side, one guy is dead over on the bar, the bartender is getting shot in the back by one of the guys trying to hit someone else, and about three guys are cowering trying to get the hell out of the way. Whenever I think of the Middle East, this picture pops to mind.

So, all are pleased. Like an old phrase we hear here: the secret of a good relationship is to sometimes don't hear somethings and act like if not ever happened.

Thank you Tom for this fine peace of sarcastic art.

Basically like a real soap opera the actors make you (the world (or only the West and Muslim world?)) watch, so that the actors make a good living. Just that that compared to the original ones you can't just not switch the TV off because there are actors behind the actors that call it news and therefore make you watch it so that the politicians have to follow their interest?

Iraq could sell a piece of land on its sparsely populated Southwestern side, forming an Israeli exclave. Immediately next to it, another piece can be sold to Iran. Now, hardcore Zionists could boast they have obtained yet more land, IRGC could boast they have increased their presence in the Middle East once more, and if they feel they need still more propaganda points at home, they can always duke it out, directly, with whatever weapons they like. They share a border now!

Well, that’s clear then 😜😜

Thank you, Tom, the analysis and sarcasm is on point, as always!

Hah. This affair is starting to remind me of the classic satire "Good Soldier Svejk."

More prosaically, I wonder about the logistics of striking Isfahan even with a 400km air launched ballistic missile. Wouldn't that be a major op requiring tanking and escorts? At the very least impossible to keep hush, unless they had overflight permission and collusion from the Arabs.

It was written by a Slav and makes fun of Austria-Hungary, Russia's enemy at the time. The possibility of the portrayal of autocratic incompetence drawing some parallels with the Soviet Union may have just evaded the censors.

You’re on your prime Tom! Kudos! Anyway, IRGC and Israel are very good sideshows for you, every day. If it wasn’t for the people dying involved, it may be an opera buffa of 1st degree.

Sorry, the sarcasm is too thick. I like your analysis, it has always been informative, but this does not parse. Don't worry about the people who criticize you, just talk plainly.

This is why you'll never see a cathartic nuclear apocalypse - instead, the bastards will fire off one or two nukes, pause to let the other side respond, then on and on it will go.

Because if they can get hurt, they're careful. If they can send other people to die, they'll all embrace Putin style tactics and transform us all into orcs.
