If the artillery is low on ammo, and its barrels have deteriorated resulting in 70m precision, they use whatever firepower they have.
To me, this isn't the best way to use a Leopard. The Leopard 1A5 is a quickly moving sniper, not designed to run alone in the field.
It seems that it hit a mine and the left track was damaged. I suppose that the crew was rescued?
