Thanks Don for good summary. You have put first paragraph 2 times.

Are you sure that you didn't do some type error, that self propelled will be taken till 2028? Because in storages there should be more toweled as SPG and Tom wrote that RU has problem with SPG because of massive looses and RU are using mostly towel now.

Towed artillery is easier to refurbish and with drones all over the battlefield there is something to be said to just digging in a gun and camouflaging it.

It's possible that a lot of the SPGs will never be refurbished because of the condition that they're in and because their barrels may be removed to replace the worn out barrel of SPGs already in Ukraine.

Thanks for clarification. So biggest problem with SPG now is speed of refurbishment. I thought that ru don't have enough for longer war but they cannot use them also in short time. even better as i thought. Such types as 2s1 with 15km range will have in 2 -3 years very low value.

Thanks for the update!

The story with the captured FV104 containing a GPS tracker is great.

- Are there any other reported similar cases?

- Thanks to the tracker, the Ukrainians knew where to strike; but how did they know when? Or was it just a coincidence that a deputy commander boarded the vehicle just before it gets targeted?

At some point the vehicle will stop at its point of destination for inspection. As there are bounties on those equipment and there is little else to brag about in this war (see destroyed Western vehicle exhibition on Red Square), that vehicle is an attraction.

So they either followed the tracker with a drone or just struck where it stopped for longer.

I don't have any other details on this attack or similar incidences. My guess is that the deputy commander didn't just board it, it was probably his personal vehicle.

Andrew Perpetua says that in the last eight months of the Russian offensive, his team has recorded 4000 Russian vehicles and artillery pieces that have been destroyed or abandoned compared to 900 NOT 600 for Ukraine.

That’s fantastic. I looked at the report link in cooperation with YouGov and how surprising about the depletion of artillery. I’m sure Putin will want to keep some in reserve for when China or NATO have a full scale war but not the quantities they are projecting 1/3 of fixed and half towable has gone or is it the other way round? I thought they were producing stuff like fury. Clearly not
