The bridge was built after Russian seized Crimea in 2014. Ukraine did just fine without a bridge before. I'll let them describe what the bridge means to them.

It seems that this sea drone destroyed by a Russian drone was a stationary target (painted white and with a red stripe? Quite strange, as all sea drones used by Ukraine were painted a dark grey)

Indeed, I was watching that slack-jawed and expecting to have the bearings seize due to high temperatures. It was awesome that it survived all this
Certainly it's in trouble if it stops without any extinguishers. It would be interesting to see the conclusion.
