Thanks again, Don. It's interesting how Zaluzhny's new job seems to be news. Long before he was replaced, my Russian friends were telling me he was going to happen, and that he was going to be UK ambassador. Probably the only time they have ever had better information than the rest of us.

Zelensky proposed this position to Zaluzhny when he wanted to replace him after Zaluzhny wrote the article that the war was in a stalemate. That happened past autumn or early winter. Zaluzhny denied the offer by reasoning that there was no legal way for him to leave the army. Now Zelensky had to take responsibility for firing Zalauzhny and seemingly got him out of the army so that Zaluzhny has no more excuse for declining to leave the country where he is the top candidate to become the next president.
