Hello everybody!
A very brief ‘update’ for today…
By now, I think it’s no ‘news’ that the last 48 hours the ZSU has unleashed (quote) ‘apocalyptic volumes’ of artillery fire upon the Russian positions south-west, south, and south-east of Robotyne and in the Verbove area. That’s at least how the few Russians still reporting about developments in this region are describing the situation.
Indeed, immense volumes of sustained artillery fire – and that ranging from M142s and M270s, via BM-21s to Archers, to shorter-ranged 2S7s, M109 Paladins, M777s, Panzerhaubitze 2000s, Caesars, Zuzanas – are confirmed as hammering targets from Novoprokopivka and Verbove, to Ocheretuvate, to Tokmak and Chernihivka.
Unsurprisingly, there are videos showing two Ukrainian shells hitting two different, but adjacent Russian positions in Novoprokopivka almost at the same time, like the one from which this still was taken (‘tip’ of the second detonation can be seen at the bottom of this still).
The Russians are trying to hit back - with incendiaries and air strikes, because their artillery had another very bad day….or, better said: bad week.
BTW, one curiosity from that side was this D-44 gun (‘85mm Divisional Gun’, to be more precise), made back in the 1940s and knocked out by Ukrainians about two days ago:
….which is ’speaking volumes’ about….. well, about volumes of the Russian artillery losses (as described earlier).
Other videos are showing Ukrainian Challenger 2 MBTs, Bradleys, Marders, Strykers ‘moving’….Indeed, I think it’s also no news (at least it’s so that related reports are making circles in the social media for at least 48 hours), that two fresh Ukrainian brigades have appeared in this area, too:
- 15th Kara-Dag Brigade (National Guard), and
- 71st Jäger Brigade (ZSU, and equipped with Bradley IFVs).
Additional units are known to have been working up further to the rear, the last few days (think that’s answering all the questions about ‘ZSU lacking reserves’).
Unsurprisingly, since the last night, reports are surfacing…. well, all of them can be summarised in one word: assault.
Without going into any further details: once again, be patient, wait for news… or, if you can’t wait and are inpatient, busy yourself with taking care your country to send more medical equipment, more mortar ammo (ammunition), more artillery ammo, more drones, more night vision systems, and more heavy weapons to Ukraine.
Sitting in warm, safe places and being patient shouldn’t be too hard of a task to successfully complete…
Thanks Tom and have a nice day!
Another donation made! And let’s be honest with ourselves too: this is where it gets really expensive! Sadly, both in people and material...
