So, if anything the Russians say can be trusted any more, Prigozhin’s glorious ‘march of justice’ is over.
Supposedly in exchange for dismissals of Shoygu and Gerasimov, and through mediation of Lukashenko, Prigozhin has converted this affair into a pathetic Russian telenovela... I'm just surprised it wasn't aired in Spanish...
Prigozhin is going to be exiled in Belarus; ‘his’ Wagners have received immunity, just have to sign contracts with the MOD, or they are going to be sent to Africa.
Read: they can already count the days and hours of their remaining life…
...and of course, Prigozhin proudly boasts that 'not a drop of Russian blood was spilled for this achievement'. For what achievement? Shoygu and Gerasimov are still in thir positions. And why should somebody who rushed dozens of thousands into death care about lives of 12 VKS pilots shot down and killed by Wagner's SAMs today...?
Why that? Because just today, Wagner’s Panjshirs shot down a total of 1 An-24/26, 3 Mi-8MTPR-1s and 1 Mi-8, 1 Mi-35 and 1 Ka-52...
Now all the Russians - but especially all the Pudding-fans abroad - can be proud of their heroes again. Meanwhile, the FSB will be busy for weeks arresting all those who sided with Prigozhin, yesterday and today... (seems, this was the ‘most fruitful’ act of this entire episode: cleansing enemies within) - while we're left with two certainties:
- a) the times of Wagner PMC are over, and
- b) everybody in Russia is lying, as soon as they start talking (the same is valid for all the Pudding fans abroad, too).
We should also pay attention at the way ‘elites’ - read: oligarchy - is treating lives of ‘its employees’, indeed, populations of entire countries, too.
As said: a pathetic Russian telenovela: whoever said that pile of junk named 'nation' is unreformable - was right. The next time, be so kind and remind me never to waste a whole day with ‘rulers’ of that country.
The whole thing has a strange air of unreality.
Definitely we don't have enough details for understanding what happened
Still scratching my head...
IMHO it`s not as simple as that. Let me express my hypothesis whether you will believe it or not. 1. To get to Moscow without any substantial resistance would be impossible for Prigozhin`s troops without help. 2. Prigozhin is not so stupid to pretend to submit the whole state machine of Russia himself without the help of secret services that actually rule Russia for years and years. Prigozhin was used by some group of the FSB (or maybe GRU) as an instrument to frighten Putler in such a way to make him obedient and to make a deal. It seems evident to me that Putler was frightened so much as to leave Moscow in a hurry after declaring Prigozhin and his troops as traitors. . 3. The conditions of the deal now are unknown but surely they were unpleasant to Putler and were discussed for several hours before Putler gave his consent. Otherwise I suppose he was reminded the fate of Khrushchev. 4. The immediate result of all this jazz is the demonstration of Putler`s personal weakness, cowardice and his dependence on FSB and the like.
