To be clear, one of the Chinese citizens charged for smuggling in a fungus “that can wipe out crops” was a researcher at the University of Michigan developing measures against that fungus; if you look her up on Google scholars you can see a few articles mentioning the type. The other person was apparently her boyfriend. Maybe the FBI has something indicating they were planning something nefarious or at least criminally careless, but what they’ve mentioned publicly isn’t especially damning.

They're also holding a Russian scientist for carrying frog embryos and threatening to deport her back to Russia where she faces arrest. It's just how things are in the US now.

And it's necessary to say that she has brought that frog embryo from French scientific institution on request on her boss at Harvard university.

As are quite a few domestic citizens.

Based on comments from a friend with a biology PhD, smuggling the fungus was illegal and a dumb idea, but almost certainly not nefarious. The fungus already exists in the US. However the strains are different, and it's never a good idea to move stuff like that between continents. That's why there are laws against it. Deportation makes sense in this case, as it was clearly illegal and intentional, but a terrorist prosecution would be considerable overreach.

An article about Ukraine's energy problems that existed even before the full-scale invasion. I highly recommend reading it. To this you can add the power that Ukraine lost during the full-scale invasion.

As a citizen of the country you have mentioned, our government support our companies to cooperate with Ukraine, but is not giving much money to it (comparing donations by GDP).

So I would say we need more countries like Denmark.

You are right, what do I see as perfect match is cooperation of know how (CZ) with funding (DK...), because where is the will there is a path

Dont forget we do have elections in 4 months here in CZ, so situation might go in wrong direction after all the populist and antiestablishment bigger or smaller wins (some idiots in from CZ government have missed opportunity or even are not helping with idiotic ideas)

> With the recent absence of US support, the EU has not provided about 60% of the military aid to Ukraine.

Should that be “has now provided”?

Hi Tom, Hi Don. There is some media coverage of the Russians using a jet-powered Shahed. Is this really happening and what are the characteristics of this wonder weapon?
