Thanks Tom, thanks Don.

It is possible that the appearance of such a message is connected with the exhaustion of missiles for the Petriots, necessary for protecting the capital from Russian ballistic missiles.

As a rule, in Ukraine, what is initially called "fake", then becomes "reliable information".

Patriot seems to have fallen flat on it's face in KSA, Israel AND Ukraine.

Long past time for Russia to take off the gloves and end this farce.

Russia isn't wearing gloves and hasn't for a long time. What, you thought they'd just string this war out so they can expend their army and their national fund because they were toying the Ukraine? You think it was part of their plan to lean on North Korea and cement their relationship to China as a junior partner?

So clever, Putin is. Everything is proceeding as he has forseen.

If Russia wasn't fighting with one arm behind it's back, Kiev would look like Gaza, and all the bridges over the Dniepr would have been dropped long ago to preclude any meaningful reinforcements sent East. Russia is not trying to take territory, this is a typically myopic American assessment.. Russia is interested in irreversible demilitarization of Ukraine, one Ukronazi at a time.

Твой опус о том, что РФ "терпило" и воюет в пол силы, напомнил мне о старой шутке: "карлик был очень сильный.... Но очень лёгкий"

At this point Russia only has one arm and not all of its fingers. Some super power you have over there. By the way, do you even have pencil sharpeners yet, or have to use a knife?

Expend their army? They are, by all accounts, and by the assessment of that bastion of Lefties, The Pentagon, stronger now than before the invasion 🙄

It is possible. Ukraine has been warning of shortages and asking to buy and build Patriot missiles for a long time.

"Is the only logical result of both official Kyiv and its ‘western Allies’, ‘doing something’ for three (plus) years"

We are getting there. Kyiv is doing all this deals with western companys to produce ammo and equipment in Ukraine, and the west is slowly ramping up production.

In democracies things take time. If you want to build a factory you first have to check if there lives som kind of red listed salamander or a beetle that is important to protect. Then you have to make the ppl living close to it happy. Then a lot more paperwork before you can start building.

In this situation it would have been better if we did not have democaties, but do we want that?

Things do take time in a democracy but the longest delays were the methods of a bureaucracy but inaction by politicians.

NATO nations built armies of thousands of tanks and other equipment because of the threat of the Soviet Union. Certainly, expensive armies of those sizes were not needed when the Soviet Union fell apart. But prudent politicians should create an army that would match the threat. As the Russian threat grew, they failed to do so over many decades. By 2008, the threat was obvious. Certainly, by 2014 the threat could no longer be ignored. As the Russian military build up was observed by everyone in the summer of 2021, only the willfully ignorant would take no action. And, across many governments, that's what happened.

The Patriot missile is the only one reported to be effectively engaging ballistic missiles. A year ago, Russia was producing them at a rate of 450 a year. They are now producing them at a rate of over 1000 a year. Patriot missiles were being produced at a rate of 650 a year but they built a new factory so they can produce 750 a year by 2027.

The increase in Russian production was known for over a year, this, without factoring in North Korean ballistic missiles. And yet the political decision to further increase Patriot missile production, domestically or licensed abroad, has yet to be made.
