EU + GB is doomed to insignificance (and USA too.) And that's not just a fault of politicians, but it's a fault of people - voters especially. It's not that EU miss some Churchills with "tears blood and sweat". The problem is that Churchill would hardly get 10% in any EU + GB country today. And Ukraine does not need tears and blood from us now, they just need the sweat.

Yup. Even I have to 'give in' and start blaming voters: all the time electing exactly the same bunch of corrupt idiots, and hoping things are going to be different... that's beyond idiotism.

Corrupt idiots, but in the U.S.'s last national election, not quite the same bunch of idiots, even if on the surface they seem like the same. The last election was basically a f*ck you sent to the entire American political system by (1) 40% of voters who are MAGA-NAZIs (they don't even know that they are NAZIs/fascists) with the help of an additional 11.5% of Rep/Trump voters among the so-called ordinary electorate . These "wonderful" Americans voted for iL Duce to send a message to the traditional Republicans and to the socially wacko [woke] Democrats. I am not sure exactly what the message is, but it likely involves a rejection of the types of presidential candidates that both political parties have been foisting on the American body politic for 20+ (or more?) years.

Lots of people fed up with the what's going on voted for change, but had no idea what would happen when the Changers took control.

Perhaps, but hard to believe. After all iL Duce told them what he would do and he has been doing it. Imagine the inveterate liar telling the truth! He surely told the truth, but it is also truth in service of a lie. To MAGA? No, make Donald Trump richer and more powerful through the Presidency of the United States.

They do not vote for change or any solution, they vote for wrath. Same like 1917 in Russia - wrath. 1933 in Germany - wrath. 1966 in China - wrath. 2022 in USA - wrath. All of these European parties surfing on hateful Russian propaganda like AfD, Orban, Fico, etc. - wrath. They talk about "peace" in Ukraine, but they stir hate against Ukrainian in real.

So, these voters have a good idea what would happen when the "Changers" take control and know they get what they want.

Acá en Argentina también se votó con ira y ganó un ultraderechista y ultrazionista que habla con sus perros muertos (no es broma), estamos peor que nunca pero todavía hay mucha gente convencida de lo contrario, una locura.

Actually, the last election was hacked.

It's a bit too bad that this particular version of the story sounds like a far-fetched conspiracy theory -- but it's the most plausible version of what happened that I've seen so far. It's just stupid that the Democratic party decided not to act on the day itself, because of jan 2020..

It was always about the voters. This is why Ukraine went 100% in on publicity in the early months of the war- to influence the citizens of democratic countries. The great fear and respect politicians have for those who can oust them is often underestimated. The harder power is the ballot box wielded by the people, the softer power is the media, oligarchs and politicians, etc, who influence the people's thoughts. That the softer power has been dominating for so long is on us.

Hey Sarc, what are the sources for the Russian Mafia/FSB money laundering vis-a-vis POTUS' RE deals? I know some folks who'd be interested in digging in on that. (tyia)

Tom, while I love Dons updates they wouldn’t be the same without your introduction. Love them, disagree with parts, but in general agree. Keep at it. The world will not learn, but still you should try to teach.

Tom, sure nothing much changes, but you overlook everything that Trump is doing to stop the Russian war machine. I'm not saying that Trump is anything but Putin's lapdog, but thanks to Trump's hard work destroying the US economy, I expect the price of oil to drop below $50/barrel. That's as damaging to Russia as any sanctions the Europeans will come up with.
