"Russian soldiers wore Ukrainian uniforms when they launched four waves of attacks towards Kupiansk. This allowed them to pass through Ukrainian defenses. The attacks came from the north and a Russian column drove three kilometers to penetrate to the center of eastern Kupiansk, where they were eliminated or taken prisoner."
Under the Statute of the International Criminal Court, “making improper use … of the flag or of the military insignia and uniform of the enemy” constitutes a war crime in international armed conflicts when it results in death or serious personal injury."
The judges can impose a prison sentence, along with a fine or forfeiture of the assets derived from the crime committed. The ICC cannot impose a death sentence, and the maximum sentence is 30 years. In some extreme cases, the ICC can impose a life sentence.
1. I guess things have changed since WWII. **LOL**
2. If you like, you can turn over the miscreants to the Navy and we will keel haul them. Keel hauling is worse than a firing squad. Oh wait! We don't have wooden warships under sail any more. Rats! **ROFLOL**
What sparked my original comment was something I read about the Battle of Bastogne. Contingents of German soldiers were wearing American army uniforms to sew confusion in the Allied ranks and to perform acts of sabotage. Most of these characters were captured. I saw photographs of such "illegal" POWs lined up to be executed after a military tribunals found them guilty while still in American uniforms. I wasn't thinking principally about post-war legal proceedings of war criminals such as at Nuremberg.
The end is near for Ukraine. They should surrender and beg for mercy. Even then the country will need a couple of decades to even begin recovery. There will not be much other than some farmland owned by Blackrock. So Ukrainians will become serfs to Blackrock. Then there is Soros who bought exclusive rights to 100 sq miles of the country to use as toxic waste dump for Europe. There will be no environmental controls.

Responsio: Russian soldiers wearing Ukrainian uniforms? Aren't the Russian POWs captured eligible for the firing squad?

At Nuremberg people were hung. If you kill 800,000 people in Rwanda...

...or kill two million people in Cambodia...

...you get life in prison. They also frown on using nuclear weapons in war, too.

True. But that's the same war where the US shot a deserter. Just one, though.
Thank you, Don!
