In the meantime, another Ukranian IRIS-T is gone.

Reportedly destroyed by Kh-35U missiles

Not a fact, since Ukraine makes exact replicas of the systems.

Yes, from time to time Russian forces strike UA decoys. Lancet operators fall for them from time to time. But this time looks like target is indeed juicy.

You mean this one https://twitter.com/NOELreports/status/1779485197282488493 ? Seem like a decoy.

Don, thanks for the article. Why do you think the Russians use golf carts, armored Ural trucks used by the Rosgvardia in their assaults? After all, they have BMPs, APCs, etc. Are they saving them for the summer offensive?

And motorbikes, too https://twitter.com/markito0171/status/1777922440590479551

Either they have some local shortage of amour (and the order is to attack so they attack, it is Russian leadership) or they may think faster vehicles more likely escape FPV drones.

Most probably they try to move fast, since armored columns are destroyed systematically. I don't know what rate of losses they have compared to armor.

I don't think they're saving anything. Their production of new vehicles has been the same. There's a backlog of vehicles from storage waiting to be refurbished but they can't do that any faster. And their loss rate is very high. I think they're just using anything that moves. Motorcycles, trucks and golf carts, as mentioned, but also quad bikes, tanks with walls built on them or even just 21 people holding onto each other on top of a tank.

No vehicle outruns a drone but a vehicle does limit the time you are exposed to fire, even if it doesn't provide protection from that fire.

The amount of armoured vehicles expended by the Russians still amazes me.

Almost as they are indifferent to their losses, as long as they take more ground (we knew about the human losses, but until now they seemed hesitant to expend equipment freely).

Maybe the Russian industry (and quite probably, the Chinese) are churning out many vehicles, new and repaired?

That 'turtle tank: is a interesting solution to the FPV problem. While some may laugh, it shows the Russians are trying to adapt to the FPV threat. i understand it survived the assault, only to be destroyed later thanks to a Russian posting pictures that could be geolocated.

Yes, Perpetua's team located the warehouse where it was destroyed. I had a Marinka map that didn't make this post: https://map.ukrdailyupdate.com/?lat=47.963319&lng=37.629118&z=14&d=19822&c=1&l=0
