Just a ‘quick and dirty’ (and ‘unplanned’) update on latest developments in the Donbass, in order to prevent us from losing the oversight.
Namely, contrary to countless claims by Putin-fans in the social media of the last 4–5 days, it turned out that the Russians — which is: 3-4 brigades of the LNR, 1 of DNR, 1 or 2 BTGs of the 18th Machine Gun Artillery Division (brought in all the way from Sakhalin; usually consisting of 46th and 49th MGARs), and at least two BTGs of Wagner — failed to make any kind of advances in the Sloviansk-Siversk-Bakhmut areas for over a week of attacks.
From north towards south:
- Ukrainians smashed a Russian BTG in Kurulka and the 93rd Mech (who else…?) is advancing on Dibrovne.
- Bilohorivka (and thus Hryhorivka, too) remains under Ukrainian control;
- Verkhnokamyanske remains under Ukrainian control (indeed, fighting moved to its eastern outskirts, in direction of Zolote and Verkhnokamyanka refinery)
- not only Ivano-Darivka, but even Spirne is under Ukrainian control.
…and atop of this, Ukrainians smashed all bridges in the Kupyansk area. Nothing — no trains, no trucks with supplies — can pass there since 2–3 days already.
Unsurprisingly, the Russians are down to explaining they have ‘completed the creation of conditions to encircle’ Siversk but then decided ‘not to storm’ the town, so they can create ‘another cauldron for Ukrainian militants’.
…oh, but sure: must be another of Putin’s ‘gestures of goodwill’ and ‘operational breaks’…
Guess, that’s why they’re now re-deploying elements of the 1st GTA from Sloviansk to Siversk (that is: the sole BTG of the 90th Tank equipped with BMP-Ts)…
Ah yes, and a note for all those with academic degrees in online-psychoanalysis from Google’s University of the Internet: you threw your money out of the window. No matter how long and ‘well-substantiated’ you might consider your ‘readers’ letters’, I consider all your posts containing psychoanalysis of my person, and what and whom do I ‘hate’ and how do I think - for spam.
