The problem with trading territory is that giving up (what is left of) the LOC means giving up all of eastern Ukraine up to (at least) Kharkiv, Poltava and Zaporizhzhye....

Thus, don't think this is a good idea - regardless if in military or in political sense.
Plus, the more the Russians conquer, the more Ukrainians have to recover, later on. And the Russian supply on mines is 'endless'....
