Sorry, but you seem to have as much 'understanding' for what is the IRGC/Hezbollah-conglomerate doing in Syria - as Putin, the Israeli government, and all the possible other foreign governments and their useless intelligence services. Combined.

On basis of exepriences with the build-up of Hezbollan in Lebanon, it's working 'in generations'. Or, in words of one of top IRGC ideologists (and that on occassion of opening another Shi'a religious centre in Latakia some 4-5 years ago): 'We do not need you: we need your children and grandchildren'.

For the start, they're providing them with free elementary schooling at such centres. Older teenagers are attracted with stipends for studies in Iran - highly attractive, for (thanks to Assadists and 10+ years of war) Syrians are piss-poor.

What does that mean? They're growing entirely new generations of youngsters - Syrians, and grandchildren of Palestinian refugees - indoctrinated with the Twelver Shi'a. More loyal to Tehran than Hezbollah ever could dream about getting. And available in dozens-, then hundreds of thousands.

No. Not tomorrow. In 5, 10, 15 years - or longer, as necessary.
