Hello everybody!
A brief - but ‘richly illustrated’ - update on our collection for one of mortar batteries of the 151st Mechanised Brigade, ZSU.
As mentioned earlier, we’ve launched this effort back on 7 August. In a matter of one week, we’ve collected enough to buy a Nissan Navara. The SUV was acquired in the UK, shipped to Ukraine, overhauled, repainted, and then - and together with a generator and a recharger acquired from your donations, too - delivered to the 151st.
Now, few days later, it’s safe to show your photos of the troops with the first SUV and other goodies, already near the frontline:
In the Update 4, I’ve also mentioned that the gents arrived at the pick-up point in their old Mitsubishi L200 Rickshaw, and that this was badly worn out. Indeed, it turned out they were in such a rush, that although Anastasiia purchased two new tyres there was no time to repair the car. That said, thanks to your donations, this was meanwhile done, too (indeed: Anastasiia found a pair of tyres that were cheaper to get; for ‘just’ UAH 7,500; thus, some UAH 2,000 were returned to the account!).
Here are ‘before/after’ photos of results:
With other words: THANKS TO YOUR READINESS TO HELP that good old L200 Rickshaw is now back in operational condition and providing excellent services to the 151st again.
As of yesterday evening, the stand of this collection was as follows:
UAH 82,202,40 on the bank account, and
US$ 5,720,73 on PayPal.
That’s enough for another SUV. Anastasiia is meanwhile in touch with military technical service and they’ve provided a list of cars that would be best-suitable: she’s presently searching correspondingly. Thus, this effort is going on!
Like gents from the 151st, we’re both feeling extremely grateful - but also responsible for your donations: thus, want to make sure it’s the ‘right stuff’ that’s going to be acquired as next, not ‘just something with four wheels’ (shouldn’t mean the Navara acquired this way was ‘bad’: the 151st has already driven more than 1,000km with it, and troops are extremely happy about it!).
BTW, if you want to continue donating - and unless Anastasiia’s status as volunteer, and a corresponding bank account are officially set up - please, be so kind to continue doing so via:
PayPal: 5266986@gmail.com (Purpose: ‘For Rickshaws’)
Once again: never have a trace of doubt, it’s really so that every cent counts. Every cent is helping. Except for joining the ZSU and fighting, I think one can’t help any more directly than we are doing in this fashion. Your money is arriving, it’s kept safe (not wasted), it is spent for things that matter, and it is helping win this war.
Above all, please mind: your donation is an incredible morale booster for the troops. They do not ask how much have Andrey, Pavel, John, Bill or Tom donated: they’re happy anybody is thinking about them, trying to help them, and has donated. There is no way to put into words what our efforts mean to them.
Now lets keep our fingers crossed for Anastasiia to find the next car soon. Of course, I’ll continue posting updates as soon as there are any news.
Thank you and everyone involved for your help! Just a thought: wouldn't it be safer to also blur the car's license plate number? Even if it's going to be removed/changed eventually.
Great news! Nice to see the pics, but more to know the vehicle is giving service. Going for the next one!
