Hello everybody!
Thanks to your kind and quick help, this project is coming forward very quickly - which is just as good, because the 151st Mechanised Brigade, ZSU, is really, ‘in the middle’ of the Battle of Donbas, these days. Indeed, defending Pokrovsk.
As promised the last week, this is to update you on the status of this collection, initiated back on 7 August.
Yesterday, Anastassia has picked up the first Nissan Navara purchased for the 151st Mechanised. It’s overhauled and re-painted and this is a photograph of its current look:
I’ll update you on the totals of this collection in the morning. In this place, let me inform you about the expenses so far:
cost of the car: GBP 4,700,— (or UAH 249,100,—)
delivery to Ukraine: EUR 580,— (or UAH 26,564,—)
maintenance & repair: UAH 17,050,—
delivery to the 151st: UAH 5,700,—
That’s a total of US$ 7,190,—- or UAH 298,414,—.
Because you were all so kind and there was enough money left, and on request from Anastasiia’s husband, she has also purchased a charging station and a generator for a total of UAH 49,847,—.
Might sound ‘awkward’, but please mind that out there on the battlefield, even if this is close to urban areas, electric power is anything else than guaranteed. There is simply no ‘electric socket in every corner’. This is also no ‘luxury’. On the contrary: a generator and a charging station are of crucial importance for powering up and/or re-charging lots of different equipment, as, when, and where needed.
The car, the generator, and the charging station are in the process of being delivered to the 151st.
We still have a total of US$ 7,719,—- left: that money will be used for the second SUV (details to follow).

A note: while I hope we might ‘adopt’ the 151st and continue helping it in the future, too, this, one project is now over. Until further note, if you want to help, please be so kind to donate for the 113rd Brigade, ZSU. Specifically: for the 209th Battalion of the 113rd Brigade, Territorial Defence.
This is deployed in the Kharkiv area, and needs help with repairs of their SUV.
This effort is run by Eduard Burghardt (from Germany), who is in touch with this unit and helping them with all of his powers for months already.
Details for that collection are as follows:
IBAN: DE66 5009 0500 0002 6022 17
PayPal: eduard.burghardt@googlemail.com
Purpose: for the 209th Bat/113th.
Once again: every single cent counts. It really matters, and it really helps.
Special thanks!
Wonderful news - the Navara looks great! Thanks for the update Tom - seeing what our contributions have helped to buy gives us a warm glow which will carry forward to future projects. In an age of scammers, having honest contacts makes the whole process refreshing as we can do something to help knowing the funds are going to the stated purpose.
Tom thanks so much. Especially the one for the 113th Brigade, my best friend was there, now discharged.
