For all this racist orientalist talk about proud brave Kurds superior warriors over others races in Muslimland, it feels like "general" Abdi was an even worse version of idiotic and incapable US sponsored potenta compared to Karzai and Ghani in Afghanistan.

Apparently, Abdi and the rest of PKK cadros spent the past years refusing all aggreement and renaging all their engagement despite even Americans DoS officials telling them the US would not wage war against the STG just of the sake of their beautiful eyes.

I generally dislike the wordism of "terror group" given how it has been abused during the WoT but I feel this is the only denomination that can describe accuretely the PKK in Syria.

For the past decade and half, all they have been capable was to be hyper aggressive and hyper opportunistic as they ravage the country with their intensive campaign of terror car bombing in non-kurdish town, death squads raids and (for the past year) sniper killing civilians in Aleppo city at will.

Meanwhile they have been utterly inepte on the political scene with their belief the US would always support them no matter what and wage war on anybody in the region.

While on the military front, they have been at best a paper tiger despite their undeniable preparations, organization level and massive US support. All their success happened at snail speed despite overwhelming air support by either US or Russia while their forces systematically collapsed without it.

It genuinely feels like, far more than IS, terrorism was all to the PKK and their Rojava was but a parody of state under a terror group. A decade of ruling the most profitable lands in Syria with both fuel and agricole ressources yet not a single town, including those with Kurdish majority (well, Kobane really, Hassake is Arab and Sunni majority too just like the coast) saw an improvement of their infrastructure and their economy.

It all went into PKK cadros pockect and financing tunnels + terror attacks.

Btw, have you seen the footage of some of their prison liberated from them ? Just like Assadist (whom they were but a militia part of the wider pro Assad coaliton), women with children and little babies were liberated.

They also commited a massacre in one of Tabqa prison. PKK spent the past year imprisoning anybody cheering on the fall of Assad ...

Dear Tom, there are many things I have to thank you for. To give me documented POVs of world situations in which the press is not doing its job is one of them.
