(No) Western Permission for the Use of advanced Western Weaponry by Ukraine on the Russian Soil
Hello everybody!
Seems, the Trio Fantasticus in the White House has brought its decision: it remains at the standpoint not to grant permission for Ukraine to deploy specific of its weapons systems on the Russian soil.
Now, before I go on with my commentary, a ‘disclaimer’, sort of: the following is meant for people curious to be informed, and interested in this topic sufficiently enough to understand it, too.
Those who can’t understand it, and think telling you the following is making me a ‘Putin fan’: please, be so kind, and stop reading right here. Thanks a lot.

Up front: as is known for months already, programming (i.e. 'targeting') of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG air-launched guided missiles operated by the PSU's 7th Brigade (Su-24M/MR fighter-bombers), is done by a NATO targeting cell.
Outside Ukraine.
Means: a 'few men in black' there in the UK and France, plan the mission, program the route of the missile, etc., then the weapon is brought to the border of Ukraine and 'forgotten' there. And then picked up by 'curious onlookers from the other side': rushed to one of 7th Brigade's air bases, installed on Su-24s, and deployed in combat.
For unknown reasons, this process (still) requires some sort of US involvement, too. At least some sort of US agreement.
...which is why not only London and Paris, but also Washington have it easy to block deployment of such weaponry on the Russian territory: they simply refuse to program missiles to target anything ‘east of the border’.
Ironically, this means that when Pudding complains that a deployment of such Western weaponry on the Russian territory would be equal with a NATO attack on the Russian Federation (like he did, in a TV-interview, two days ago): he's right.
That said, the total production of such missiles is so low, and so many have already been deployed in combat (inside Ukraine), that even if, say, Washington, London and Paris would have 'granted permission' for their use on the Russian territory (today they've decided not to do so), either
a) they could still block their deliveries to Ukraine (through simply not delivering any), or
b) even if they would deliver their remaining stocks, Ukrainians would spend most of these in a matter of days.
What's at least as ironic: the weapons reported (but still not confirmed) as 'delivered by Iran to Russia' are no 'ballistic missiles' - as widely claimed by most of the mainstream media (even by one from the Trio Fantasticus). With their range of 120km, Fajr-360s are, actually, 'artillery rockets': weapons in the class of BM-27s, BM-30, M142 and M270.
The reason why they would be such a problem for Ukraine is that they would add a lot of firepower to the VSRF. One should keep in mind that this is already deploying BM-27s, BM-30s, and TOS-1s, and that the VKS is deploying its UMPK glide bombs to hit the ZSU's positions along the frontline. This is hurting the ZSU: I know of cases where single hits obliterated entire platoons of troops…
....and such weapons are hurting the ZSU because the West remains completely incompetent in rapidly ramping up its production of SAMs, and delivering enough of these to Ukraine so this could not only defend its cities from longer-ranged Russian missiles (see: cruise missiles, Shaheds and Iskanders), but also ZSU-positions along the frontline from such, shorter-ranged/tactical Russian weapons like Fajr-360 might become one.
Ironically… (yes, every war is foremost full of ironies) - this is something where Russia has no problems: it's got enough Pantsyrs and heavier SAMs to deploy these for protection of its headquarters, storage depots etc., and to fire a lots of these, and, regularly, shot down as least some of incoming Ukrainian BM-27s, or different of M142/M270 rockets, or even ATACSMs.
....while Ukraine could manufacture its own, newly-designed SAMs, BUT: simply has no money to do so.
Correspondingly, when the Trio Fantasticus in the White House was onsidering granting permission for deployment of weapons like Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG to Ukraine, it had to think about,
a) whether it was ready to listen to intelligence reports about deliveries (or none at all) of Iranian Fajr-360s to Russia;
b) whether it was ready to trust such reports (regardless if these say 'yes, they've delivered Fajr-360s', or 'no they didn't'), and
c) then it had to keep in mind what Pudding said he thinks about the deployment of such weapons on the Russian territory.
....and then be in panic because it's screwed up, once again.
Namely, even if Washington and Brüssel would, finally, decide to seriously ramp-up SAM-production - it would take their industry about two years to react.
But then, that's what happens when zombie idiots let this war go on and on and on, for 2,5... better said: 10,5 years, now... (yes, this deserves another ‘facepalm’).
Regardless of what military effects those long-range strikes could have, or not have, I believe it is hugely important to cross with impunity every red line that Putin conjures. Every time the West relents and succumbs to blackmail, Putin is emboldened, Xi is emboldened. And emboldening them in that way is actually increasing the chances of global nuclear war, not reducing it.
Every day that pass and I'm more convinced that this war is being tailored by Raytheon and Boeing. And all the rest of the Industrial Defense Complex, in USA and Europe.
Eisenhower was right in his advise.
What an irony that the arms dealers need to let an ally loose to rampage their own production and get Big contracts by scarying their own buyers.
