JDAM-ERs in Ukraine

Hello everybody!
Just a short one for today, because something is now officially out, and thus there’s a good opportunity to briefly talk about it.

As reported by the Ukrainian military journal Defence Express, yesterday, the PSU has received its Boeing- (USA) and/or SHOAL-made (i.e. Australian-made*) JDAM-ER kits.

....and Mk.82 warheads for them. Two are visible on the photos in the left column, top and bottom, of the following official ‘collage’:

Mind: contrary to the ‘classic/early’ JDAM-ER-versions, which had their wings mounted atop of the bomb’s body, like here:

- those delivered to Ukraine have them mounted low on the bomb’s body, like here (that’s the SHOAL-manufactured version):

- or here (photo taken during the flight-testing of the Boeing-designed and manufactured JDAM-ER-version):

No doubt, it took some time (see ‘months’) to outfit PSU’s jets correspondingly, install all the wiring, then test-fly the resulting combination, and then set up all the details with the GUR MO and the ZSU, etc. Because…. well, weapons of this kind are best deployed on basis of ‘real time’ intelligence, so they can strike mobile targets, too - and this is where the PSU relies on intelligence provided by the GUR MO and the ZSU.

It also took some time for the PSU to develop suitable tactics (because, if anybody thinks Ukrainian fighter-bombers are ‘just flying in direction of enemy, releasing bombs and that’s it’: that’s dead wrong). etc., but meanwhile these JDAM-ERs are ‘in service’, and heavily deployed against the Russians.

....and that's the essence of the 'secret' of such blows like when '4 Russian MSTA-S' do boom, in a matter of ‘few minutes’:

That, of course, was just one case: there were lots of such 'events' every single day, ever since... Even if I guess, the Russians have figured out most of what's happening to them, and how and why, meanwhile, I'm just not sure if I should talk about any 'specific cases', or how exactly are Ukrainian pilots deploying their weapons of that type.
