a) yes, there are - bitter - complaints, but

a) yes, there are - bitter - complaints, but

b) troops keep on fighting, and, though more importantly,

c) they still trust their leadership enough to openly complain.

Now it's on that leadership not to disappoint them, to sort out incompetent commanders, and improve the situation.
