I remain at the standpoint - i.e. see my earlier conclusions confirmed - you've mentioned. The VSRF did collapse, back in late March: was the reason why it withdrew from northern Ukraine. The Russians never run such a withdrawal 'just because they can'. That was the only way to save anything at all and buy time until units could be rebuilt.
The VSRF also cannot reform: it has learned absolutely nothing, and is doing nothing new. 5,5 months into this war, it's still doing everything exactly the same way like before. The only difference is that its Orlan-10s can work at temps above 5°C: they couldn't operate them through Feb-Mar, and most of April. Since May, they can. That said, they have no solution for this on hand for the coming winter, and if anybody there is going to be 'freezing' - then the VSRF units, left 'naked' for the lack of UAVs that can operate in winter weather.
The PMCs is no durable solution at all: like all other troops in this war, they're going to get shot away, sooner or later. Wagner has lost 70%+ of one of its BTG assaulting Bakhmut, two weeks ago; Redut lost two by now (one of these already in the Kyiv area, the other in the Kharkiv area, back in Feb-Mar). They can't go on replacing troops, because they're recruiting from the VDV and similar agencies, and these have suffered such losses that there are no 'new' recruits left to draft into the PMCs (and the PMCs are not drafting 'dedushkas').
Re. supplies via Romania: these are flowing, don't worry. How do you think have Macedonian T-72s reached Ukraine, a week ago....?
