No doubt, this can also be confirmed with help of visual evidence. And, considering the Russians were on offensive for the first four weeks of war, their higher losses are little surprising.
However, we do not have any kind of visual evidence for much of battlefields in the north-east, east, and even for most of the south. Thus, we acutally have no clue how many losses have Ukrainian armed forces suffered during initial 'holding' clashes with invading Russians.
....and, tragically, there's no doubt that the Mariupol garrison - estimated at 7,000 - is doomed to get overrun. Indeed, there are already estimates that it has suffered more than 50% losses by now.
Eventually, I wouldn't be surprised should it turn out the Ukrainian losses are at least 50% as high as Russian, perhaps even equal.
