I find he's doing the typical mistake of people in his position: see, unable to see a forest of all the trees.... and thus 'discussing ambient noises' and 'maintaining status quo', instead of waht really matters.

For example: he's neither understanding Putin, nor explaining him from Putin's point of view, but making the mistake of explaining Putin through the US eyes.

Moreover, he's concentrating on Western politicians _instead_ on oligarchs that are actually in charge (if at all, i.e. if he would be payint attention, that would be the only thing supporting his theories about the 'Western guilt').

Overall, sorry, but I find that spending any more time with discussing this is pointless.
