Not only the regime of Bashar al-Assad, or the IRGC and Russians, but especially such supposed ‘backers’ of the Syrian insurgency like the USA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, are creating themselves the proxies they prefer.

In this scenario, there is no place for a sincere (as naive as this might sound) movement of Syrians longing to remove the Assad regime.
