Just one question - this week there was a MoD from Ukraine reporting the destruction of 76 pieced of artillery equipment - that daily attrition which would really show me two things - Russians went into overdrive that much exposing their heavy equipment 2) Ukrainian army became way more effective compared to the last period (?) I have not seen any morale boost videos yet - so thinking if it was a one time item or I am missing a major trend change here...

I can't verify that 76 artillery pieces were destroyed. Plus, sometimes a gun is just damaged to varying degrees. But just in the videos I see, which is a small amount of what happens, there are a lot of artillery pieces being attacked. Certainly, some Ukrainian artillery pieces are being damaged or destroyed but even more Russian artillery is being attacked.

By the numbers provided and confirmed by Russian reports, Ukraine is much more effective now than they were even two months ago. Russian air defenses and EW systems have not prevented Ukraine from flying up to 200 km behind Russian lines with both recon and attack drones. More drones will increase the chances of seeing target. Both vehicles in transit and warehouses with equipment are being targeted.

Ukraine goal is persistent surveillance over enemy controlled terrain 24 hours a day. I don't know how close they are to achieving that goal but the danger to Russian moving and stationary targets is increasing each day. This means more artillery, trucks, warehouses and other targets will be attacked each day unless Russia finds a way to counter Ukrainian operations. The best chance Russia has to do so is expanding the number of drone pilots and crew, which is what they are currently doing.

Thank you Donald - as always - much appreciated...IT seems that they damaged probably more pieces then in one day than in a month back in February-March based on OSINT reports - at that time the Russian side was more effective.

Yes, and the non-scientific anecdotes seem to support this observation. Since Russia is increasing the size of its drone corps by 67% over the next eight months, the battlefield conditions will change, but that won't be the only thing changing this year. We'll have to see how it all turns out.

Actually, now that you mentioned it - maybe you could cover the Russian Astra-S BMS deployment - it is multidomain - can appear now on all theatres and drone ops groups are also leveraging - I always thought that the Delta is giving the West block certain advantage at data mining VS the Chinese - but now I am getting more and more in a doubt…

Mind that Russian intentiond on paper are hardly ever met in reality.

Thanks for the update. Tom, I would love to read about your reflections on nature and being of social media. I have no problems with your need for a break. Just take it. Regarding Dons summary that was very nice. But the gem here was the morning in Kostiantynivka. Really. Thank you for that.
