Yet, I feel that the ZSU campaign is again losing steam hitting random targets. After so many hits (and boasts) in Crimea, I had an impression that ZSU is doing quite well in slowly destroying the Russian air defence and other military assets. Yet, in the meantime Russians built a new Shahed launch site there. I’m not sure when you said “hunting” (for Russian drone launch sites) whether you mean just “observing.” Not to speak that diesel is apparently widely available in Crimea and the gasoline shortage doesn’t seem that bad …
There is some questions? is there any rafinery near UA working? attacking has sense only on working stuff
Has UA enough long drones to hit more distant raf? It need to have more drones because of bigger losses on the way and maybe russsia has hit some production/storages of them or maybe UA is just prepairing some big attacks.
Russia should have bigger problem with Buk missiles so if some facrtories will be hit then it can cause russia air defense will run out of missiles( at least by some types) and next attack can be then more sucesfull. We just read that RU is producing and has many AA weapons but on other side many places are not protected and RU wants to buy S400 from Turkey. In thoery RU should have dozens of S400 and much more S300 but...
and yes maybe is UA doing mistake with this attack but I think we don't have all infos.
Panic is good! I mean, OK, it is not actually good, but it is better than the paralyzing apathy... At least panic of the people (even though unreasonable) might spur the politicians to do something about Russia, however inept they are.
...because I’ve had to spend my weekend with trying to console several acquaintances in Germany. They’re in panic (yes: in panic) - about the ‘coming Russian invasion’…
Tom, nicht trösten - schick sie einfach auf die Wiesen - O'zapft is!
Thank you to Tom and Don for the info. I’m happy to hear the Ukrainians are cutting off Russians around Pokrovsk and going after launch sites and refineries and, finally, for the next two weeks or so, Americans are with them.
Thank you for the update. I understand that you are not an expert on modern warfare, but you seem to get some notoriety. This leads to questions from all kinds of people, including relatives. I am afraid you will have to live with it. But thank you for the update and the positive spin. You wrote: …»the Ukrainians are starting to develop the capability to actually track down the ‘launchers’ of strikes on Ukraine. Because targeting - and actually destroying such launchers - if far more effective than building up super-turbo air defences against the stuff they’re firing.» I agree, but only if you have the means to take them out. Both targeting and destroying as you wrote.it does seem however that the most difficult of these has been the targeting. Great news indeed.
Now that I had time time to watch the included video link a big thank you to Tom. It is wonderful material to refute some Kremlin PR bullshit spreader like Gerald Markel.
Tom, thanks for the intro & Don for the rest!

Where do the Ukrainians get the Bradleys to equip a new Brigade?
Are they getting resuplied by the Americans?
Khartia is anything but "new". Probably last drops from the PDA supplies.
Back in July, the US approved the sale of Bradleys with maintenance equipment and services.

Thanks for the YouTube link. Seeing you and hearing your "down under" accent is better than Obama. (lol)

Meanwhile, in the States top brass from around the world are being lectured to about warrior culture lethality by a talk show host and a draft dodger.
