During my days in the training center, representatives from Scala regiment came to choose some recruits for themselves. In private talks they said, that they never send fresh (from basic training) recruits to fight, because they don't feel secure with unfamiliar and untrained people - an assault team is a team, and when on a team you should trust and be confident in all the team's members - how they would behave in a critical situation.

Scala took one of the guys I knew, a good, kind guy with anti-aircraft service background. Unfortunately, he was KIA less than two months after joining them. RIP, Ivan.
