As mentioned already 2-3 times: nope, I do not expect any let-down in the intensity of this war during the winter.
Re. equipment for winter: right now, Ukraine appears to be in front. Plus, even if we take it historically: the 'Russians' earned themselves the reputation of 'winter combatants' during the WWII, when they were 'Soviets', and plenty of these Soviets were Ukrainians.
So, along that line....hm....
Finally, the climate change is having its effects and winters in Ukraine aren't that bitter like they used to be - or as they still might be in Russia from Moscow all the way to Vladivostok.
As for accumulating combat strength: Ukraine is always on advantage in this regards, if for no other reason then because every month it and its Western allies are training - and then: properly training - 12,000-15,000 fresh troops.
In comparison to that, the Russians are continuously having their 'best' shot away. So, first they've had all their professionals shot away, currently it's their youngest (and thus best) reservists etc. ....and Putin is not shown any signs of interest in ending that downwards spiral.
