AFAIK, a battalion of the 1st Tank was supposedly deployed somewhere in the Donbas, about a month ago. The rest of unit is necessary up there in the north, because nobody can be sure if the Fool in Kremlin might not find the troops to try it with Kyiv again.

And yes: overpowering artillery made armour units 'wrong in place' in this war. They're nowhere near as free (nor fast enough) to 'dance' around the opponent like, for example, the 93rd is doing all the time. My hat's off for that unit's commanders.
