To people falling for illusions - like Putin - it doesn't matter if he's sent 1 or 1,000 tanks to secure Kyiv: he was convinced he can do so, yes, with 1 tank, too.
3.) Well, yes, that with fire-power is what the Russians are trying all the time - precisely against all of the small Ukrainian units. So far, without much success, and at the cost of immense expenditure of ammunition. I think you should not make a mistake: a single Ukrainian infantry squad might take out 1, perhaps 2 tanks a day, but there are dozens of them operating against every single of Russian BTGs. The results are obvious.
